The Day 2 Day

Shouldn't it Feel Good to be Home?
Back to Full Blog

For the most part, it was good to come home, we were happy to be back and be able to settle back into a routine. But things have still been hectic since we got here. When we drove back into our town, we didn't even head home, we went straight to my doctor's office for blood that they'd said they wanted to take. Both of us were exhausted, but with the money issues, I didn't want to go home and then have to drive all the way back out to my doctor's office. So we went there, and got the blood done, but they said they wouldn't be able to give me the pregnant/not pregnant results till the next day. So we had to wait to find out what was wrong, and we took that knowledge with us as we headed to the post office to pick up our mail and then we finally went home.

We were so happy to get home, and happy to see that the feeding contraption that we'd bought had worked all right and all our fish were not dead! Monday we just laid around and tried not to fall asleep, but we took naps at Joey's naptime, and we were down for the night not long after she was. With the drive and everything, we were just beat. And with my bleeding, I am always feeling tired and worn out.

Tuesday Ryan headed back to work, finally starting at his own site instead of the one that he'd been training at. The guy who trained him met him there with the keys and Ryan was off. But the trainer guy stayed there for a bit to make sure that Ryan was going to be okay on his own, and he did okay. He likes the new job so far, but it is keeping him busy. He called me to tell me that the place was a wreck and that his boss had sneaked and told him to get on it and get the place ready because there was going to be an inspection the next day. Yikes! I called the doctor's office after I put Joey down for her nap, and they said that the blood test was negative and that since I wasn't bleeding anymore, that it was probably a "breakthrough period" and nothing to worry about. But they also said that since that isn't supposed to happen, they were calling in a new birth control prescription for me to use. I went to the pharmacy and they said they couldn't order it till the next day, so I had to wait. No bigee.

When Ryan got off work on Tuesday, he came home and picked up Joey and I and after we went to the pharmacy to get my birth control patches, we headed back to his job to finish getting the place in order. It was busy work, and we didn't get home until around midnight. He spent most of the time outside cleaning and weeding the property and I was in the office/store ... cleaning. Yuck. I couldn't believe the shape that office was in ... and to think that it was a girl who'd had it before Ryan just really irks me. Maybe that is sexist, but women know HOW to clean ... why wouldn't she clean her store? I can only imagine the shape her home must've been in.

I didn't start the birth control, because the doctor had told me to start it on Monday night, so I was going to wait till Wednesday and wait to see what the doctor said about it.

Anyway, we got home exhausted and fell into bed ...

Wednesday when I got up, Ryan was already gone for work, Joey was still sleeping, and yet I wasn't alone. The blood was back. Very light, not much, but back. I called my doctor around one, having to wait that long until their phone nurse got into the office. She told me to hit the ER and not to start the patches yet, and then the next step was waiting till Ryan got home from work around seven, and then feeding the family. After dinner, we left for the ER, Ryan and I scared of what they might do to me to find out what's going on. We should've been scared of what they WOULDN'T do.

They put me in a room, hooked me up to a heart monitor and a blood pressure cuff. In the hour that I was in the room, the cuff tightened once, and a nurse brought me the blanket that I'd asked Ryan to go ask for. I can't seem to get warm lately, and I have been so cold a few times that I'd go take a shower just to get warm. When I come out, I realize by my flaring red skin that the water was probably a little too hot. But to me, it was warm and felt good ... But anyway, that is all they did to me. The doctor came in after an hour, asked me some questions that he didn't wait for answers to, and then said to me as if I was nine and had no understanding of how my body works, "It's normal to have double periods sometimes." I wanted to say, "Okay retard ... since I've been to my doctor's office no less than three times for this ... we've kinda ruled that out ... Wanna do some testing?" Anyway, he did nothing. He sent someone in to take my vitals again, and then sent me home. I was so mad, and scared. If this is something bad, then it shouldn't be waiting like this.

Thursday I was still bleeding and I called my doctor to tell them what the ER had said. They couldn't believe that that guy had sent me home, and told me to hold of on the patches until I make an appointment with my Gynecologist. He is a good doc, so maybe he will actually try to find out what is wrong ... We shall see. Today is Saturday and the blood is still there. Monday I will call him for an appointment, and then we have to work around that for Ryan's schedule. We have no idea how to work it since he works over half and hour from home and needs the car every day from around eleven to around one, to run errands for his store. So I don't know. But we will get it figured ... we have to.
